It will likely depend on what the market is for SJD

February 19, 2022 04:26AM
A few weeks ago I figured A. Robinson would be gone for cap reasons, and that SJD would be gone because he'd get too big an offer in the FA market.

Today, I think the Rams will keep Robinson (his cap hit is around $8.5 mil). He was really really good throughout the playoffs and you just couldn't run the ball against our front when he was in there.

SJD? I doubt the Rams would commit very much cap space to keep him, and I equally imagine some team is going to offer something like a 4 year $45 mil deal. Way too rich for the Rams. Besides; Gaines has shown himself to be a dynamic player at any of the 3 inside DL positions and offers way more pass rush while still being good at stuffing the run. It's just bucks.
