I heard on a telecast that when his wife went into labor, she left specific instructions that Van was NOT to be told until the game was over.
It's my understanding that her wishes were followed and he was not told till after the game. Then it showed him hustling to leave the stadium and make it to the hospital.
I still think he might have been "distracted" by the thought of it though. He seemed a bit "off" to me during the game. On his one catch and run he seemed surprised it came to him and he went down very easy after the catch. In fact, he wasn't tackled, he was given a small shoulder push and he went down like a sack of potatoes! lol
I love VJ but he seemed underwhelming this year for me. I expected more from him!
