You never know what a person is going through until they tell you.

I was diagnosed with stage 2 bladder cancer in the fall of 2015 and went through chemo towards the end of the Rams' last season in St Louis. We were season ticket holders who would never, ever miss going to a home game. But the chemo was really hard on me. It made me so weak and tired, that I missed the last 3-4 home games. I just couldn't make it. The chemo almost killed me and I had to be hospitalized and given 4 units of blood. Even though the chemo was supposed to kill some cancer cells, by the time I had my surgery the following March, the cancer had advanced to stage 3. Anyhow, I had no idea that I would never see the Rams play in person ever again. Unbeknownst to us at the time, the team was about to be relocated to Los Angeles. So I had the double whammy of cancer, chemo, major surgery (a radical cystectomy), months of recovery... AND losing my NFL team.

But I'm still here and I am thankful and blessed. I have found ways to deal with the rest, I'm still a Rams fan. it's just a bit different now but it's all good.
