He still had faith in that abomination that was the 4-3 hybrid of the 3-4 hybrid back then.
Once we had that COVID game where he literally couldn't do anything "hybrid" the way he had in the past, he had to adjust and once that started to work, he built on that.
He's been nails since. I LOVE how he's really leaned into the base 3-4 run stopping concepts which eluded him earlier in the season.
I really didn't think Morris was gonna work out as he'd fallen into a set of really bad patterns, but after that COVID game, he's been great and I'm so happy he's been here now.
What is this "4-3 hybrid of the 3-4 hybrid back then."
Can this Mackeyser show a screenshot of it? Break it down? He says it like it was a big deal..not maybe some thing he ran a couple of times.
I mean, 3-4 hybrids DO exists, Wade Phillips ran one.
Staley didn't, Morris doesn't.
So, would love to know what this means---does anyone here know?
This is fascinating.
A good analogy being you focused on the exact placement of the deck chairs on the Titanic while others are looking at the Bigger Picture.
Plus, you conveniently just posted an excerpt from Mackeyser’s post which omitted a lot of context. Mackeyser actually included some kind comments about the ‘recent’ Morris.
