The best asset for a safety is intelligent vision. Weddle has that in spades.
He reads the offense so well. He's always in the right place.
Most importantly, he teams up with the other DBs brilliantly. Remember that story about he and Ramsey nodding to each other? Ramsey knew Weddle has his back and so could play more aggressively underneath.
Look. The man is old. He won't play the whole game. He COULD come up short on a play or two.
But he will organize that d-backfield, be in the right place, and make plays.
I think he'll be an asset against a young QB and crew.
