The was an elevator game. No two teams would be taking elevators to the top floor. One would be on the escalating elevator car and the other would be going down to the ground floor.

Had the 9ers won, the Rams are in a hole for 2-3 years. The 9ers may come back strong next year, but they won’t be sweeping the Rams and that will weaken their psyche and bravado.

This was a very huge game.
