I would welcome it but I don't expect it. It's actually hard for me to call. On the one hand, I think it's going to be a relatively bad game for the NFL in terms of ratings. SoCal and NoCal love a good freeway series but the nation doesn't. So, if the game is a bit of a ratings dud in principle, do they keep it close to try and generate excitement or let it play out naturally and sacrifice a boring Championship in favor of an exciting SB? Bengals/Chiefs will provide plenty of firepower and I'm sure they want a good opponent for the SB.
As scrappy as the 49ers have been, I just don't know if they provide the best opponent for the AFC winner. This is a weird playoffs in that way. Cincinnati and Los Angeles are both low on the NFL want list from my point of view. At least for now. KC would be a good draw for them but that wasn't always the case which suggests that if these more unpopular teams earn it, they could garner the favor of what the NFL actually wants to see.
That's the only real concern I have about this game. SF is a much better draw than LA right now in terms of national interest.
