Very shrewd move to get rid of Hadl when he did. Coming off of an MVP season, it was a bold move. While it netted the Rams a lot, they never really solved their QB issue. Not that keeping Hadl would have been a solution, considering how quickly he hit the proverbial wall. But after saying goodbye to Gabriel and Hadl, the Rams spent a long while before having another potential franchise QB. They thought Harris and Jaworski would be it, rolled the dice on Namath and Haden, drafted Ferragamo but never stuck with him...from '74 to '86 it was pretty tumultuous behind center for the Rams.
