This will probably be Whitworth's final year as a Ram. It's simply an issue that Noteboom is an NFL quality starting level LT and the Rams will lose him if they don't pay him. They can't keep both after this year. Boom is a fully known quantity. Steady. He's been well trained, is disciplined, and they're not going to get an upgrade through FA. And, as incredible as it is that Whit has dodged the bullet and is still playing well at 40, there's no defying Father Time. That body is wearing down.
However.... there is one other possibility although I think far too risky. It is to let Noteboom leave via FA, get Whit to stay 1 more year, and believe that Alaric Jackson can be their starting LT in 2023. Like I said.... risky. But, it's things like this that the Rams are known to do in order to acquire and pay star players. When Boom and Whit were both down, Jackson held his own. So.... it's hard to tell from our armchairs where the Rams coaches think Jackson is in his development and what his future likely is.
