Since he spent a lot of his coaching career on the offensive side of the ball - what about him as a replacement for O'connel if he leaves, or another position. That would clear the deck to bring in Fangio or whoever else people deem a worthy DC

The best scenario would be the following. If O'Connell leaves, promote Thomas Brown to Offensive Coordinator/RB Coach, fire Ejiro Evero, move Raheem Morris to Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Backfield Coach & hire Vic Fangio as Defensive Coordinator.
