The D did not lose this game, the long ball didn't either...

IMO what lost this game was that last drive in the 1st half by the whiners.....We had a chance to run that damn clock out and instead with a 3rd and very short he calls a pass play. This team has a big problem in commanding plays when needed especially on the O..

Giving over that ball was what ALLOWED that team the open door to have the CHANCE score. He goes into an empty backfield with a yard or less to run that half out. They had been in Matthews face, and he goes empty back field. That very 3 point difference, as the game played out were the points that made it a tie and go OT.

You can point to the same issue at the end being up 7 with less then 2 minutes...control the ball, keep the ball, anyway needed.. He chooses to run it 3 times in a row when the run game was nil to zip. What happened to his control pass game that was like a run play? Since getting Matthew he has thrown out the entire book used with Jared.......WHY?

So 3rd and short he passes, on 3rd and mid/long he runs.......I just can't put this game on the D, this damn O needs to get 1 yard when needed, they need to really put plays out there on the field that show determination in getting and running that clock away when they have that very chance in hand....they fail way too much when this type thing shows up.

The guy isn't going to change, IMO he can't be looked at anymore as the youngest coach in the league. He's been at the helm long enough to have seen almost everything, 5 years is long enough. His mantra of looking inside, and looking at himself is just talk.

I appreciate the facts on the table....we are no longer a team picking 1st or in the top 10 and that is a good thing, being a playoff team is great compared to our 20 years of sh%T....But at the same time in the back of my head is we can slowly go back to those days....He is not using these players to the best he can and they will eventually retire/move on...

Those 2 sequences, the last drive we had in the 1st half and the last drive we had protecting our 7 point lead are prime examples of him not putting forth a big enough effort to control what we had control over.

So you say those 3 points was not a factor?

roman18167January 10, 2022 06:03AM

Many factors led to a loss

How can you continually point towards the D?
