THIS is exactly what I was thinking. A few weeks ago I got torched by someone on this board for saying McVay/Stafford played either greedily or impatiently. I was told that I must have some sort of connection with the player or the coach for say something like that. Which, obviously I don't. But, I can't think of another reason to make that long pass when the intermediate stuff, with less risk, was working.
I'm still not down on the decision to change from Goff to Stafford. I just think this team and its coach needs to make better decisions and honestly, I think the defense let us down tonight and the office didn't pick up the D like the D has for the O in the past.
You wouldn't take a one on one on first down with obj against a rookie that he beat by the way. It was a good call just bad execution. He should have check down instead right.
