More so than coaching. The players need to execute - that means blocking, tackling, run fits, underneath coverage, etc.

For some reason the players seem to have a hard time rising to the occasion against San Fran. The gameplans are sound - it's a similar gameplan that let them win 12 games this year. The offensive system was installed over the summer.

Mostly I would say when Deebo or Kittle has the ball in his hands - for god's sake - tackle them!

No doubt the players must execute, promo.

But I believe that the coaches have also had a substantial impact in these losses, too.

McVay has abandoned the run too often and Morris’ early D versions were neutering some of his players. Namely, Ramsey not covering opponents top threat and the muzzling of DW. Another example was Morris continuing to defend the deep ball until late in the game while Garoppolo was having a field day with quick short passes mixed in among 44 short inside runs.

PLENTY of blame to go around in that last 49er loss debacle.

The good news is that both McVay and Morris seem to have made good adjustments since then.

This 49er game is gonna tell us a lot about Rams players and coaches…
