I wouldn't say that at all. I don't think understanding the schedule is an indication of one's intelligence at any level, only of one's interest. I can't speak for The Professor, but for me I find the symmetry and mathematical patterns of the NFL schedule fascinating. I know it's not for everyone, but it's nice for me when I run into some who appears to be a kindred spirit.
There are a lot of great posters on this board who know football well beyond my meager fandom, and you are definitely in that group. I read all your posts because I appreciate your knowledge and insight. What you know or don't know about the schedule has no bearing on either.
I don't know squat about nuclear physics and if I posted something about it I bet those that do would be scratching their heads. But that doesn't mean I'm not a diehard Rams fan, and it certainly doesn't mean I'm a dimwit.
What I wrote was meant as a compliment to The Professor. Please don't take it any other way.
