Some facts here...
1. He's 3rd in the league in passer rating. This is in spite of reading and throwing downfield more than most QBs in this league.
2. Rams are 11-4, in the lead for the division, and in the hunt for home field. This is in spite of a defense that dipped precipitously in points allowed in the first half of the season.
3. He lost his starting RB, who was a difference maker, in camp when Akers went down. Huge loss about which not enough was made IMO. Dealt with Hendy and Funk not being able to carry the load too before McVay settled in with Michel as the starter.
4. He lost a starting WR in Woody, and has been working in two wideouts who are learning the system in Odell and Skow. Edit: oh and the TEs too, getting contributions from names like Blanton.
5. Will likely double the TDs we had last year from our QB.
For myself all things considered he's been a godsend. We're in this position in large part because the Rams made a good move to upgrade this roster at signal caller. He needs to be more careful with the ball and limit his gunslinger tendencies in the playoffs.
I am enjoying this moment, just soaking it in and going to enjoy the playoff ride too no matter how long it may or may not last.
