TE - has to be at the top of the list. A Higbee, Mundt, Blanton room is pretty bare. The Hopkins experiment is nearing its end.
OT - depending on what happens with Whit and Noteboom, this could be a need. Problem is that late 3rd round LTs usually need a minute or 3 to develop.
WR - Maybe a late round flyer
RB - this is not great. Hendo cannot stay healthy, Akers is coming back from an Achilles, Sony may not be back and his knees are a time bomb. Funk, well his knees aren't great.
Edge - Im not sure this is that problematic. Miller may not be back, same with Ogbo, but Garrett got his red shirt year. Lewis can play if he can stay healthy and Hollins can play all over.
ILB - Its Jones and whoever. THey won't draft one high (so not in the 3rd round) maybe a later round for depth
CB - Yeah, this room will need to be restocked. Williams is gone. Rochell could be a starter, and is long and answer? I'd guess early
S - Rapp struggles in coverage, Fuller is fine. He needs a running mate. For a group that looked deep, they need help.
So CB, TE, S and RB with LT. In that order. As of 12/30/21
Solid list, Dead, but I do have a few different takes. As will every other poster, no doubt.
TE. Yeah this room needs an upgrade. We’ve had no blocking TE for half a season. That’s inexcusable. Is this a good TE draft? Or at least a decent one? Might even need to consider a FA here.
OT. I see Rams extending Boom here and ‘encouraging’ Whit to retire. They need the cap savings from a Whit retirement and it’s always better 1 year too soon than 1 year too late. I think Boom will be affordable. LOT ‘problem’ solved.
Edge. We agree here. I, too, will be somewhat surprised if Miller is extended. Wasn’t one of Snead’s better trades considering the cost.
RB. Agree again. They’ll pick one somewhere on Day 3 for sure. Probably every year after that.
WR. We have an embarrassment of riches and I think either Woods or OBJ are odd man out. Hope Snead gets a juicy trade value if it’s Woods that leaves.
ILB. I agree that they’re gonna be looking for a late round gem to either pair with Jones or to bolster the depth.
CB. Yup we’re gonna see some new faces in that room next year. I also think DW is a goner and Rochel is still unproven. Long is an enigma. He swings between good game to just jag status from week to week. I think CB might be among their highest priorities on Day 2 depending on who falls.
S. This position is one player (starter) away. It might be our weakest link on D and it will surely be addressed on Day 3. I mean, perhaps with 2 picks, just for insurance.
There will once again be excruciating losses to UFA, including several fan favorites. We should be used to it by now but it still always stings. I anticipate some cap massaging by Demoff and Pastoors to create just enough room for another SB worthy roster.
And Snead can ill afford another Atwell type gamble this next draft, dammit!
