I was a Rams and Colts fan back then. Loved the Rams uniforms. Loved Bert Jones. I think the Colts lost to the Raiders and the Rams lost the Mud Bowl the same day. Devastating for 11-year old me.
I actually watched the beginning of that game on YouTube recently. We marched right down the field on the opening drive and screwed it up at the end. I had to watch Ferragamo to Waddy just to get that out of my mind.
P.S. When we finally destroyed Minnesota in the playoffs in 78, go back and watch that game. It was 10-10 at halftime. I'm sure the fan base's collective sphincter was puckered at that moment. Here we go again with these guys.
