Best guess is that was an option route but it was to Kupp

where Seattle showing cover-2 and maybe Rams expecting them to
rotate out of it (as they usually do) but they stayed cover-2

and the Rams ran posts from both sides, Kupp saw that the seam
was "closed" and Stafford and he saw it with the same "eyes"
and broke to the post and Stafford threw it to a spot and Kupp
got there. Stafford threw a laser.



But what if both of the posts---were options, what if Rams
expected the safeties rotated (one ratoation in green the other in yellow)

so one is in robber spot and one over the top--then Kupp and OBJ
would have continued on with seam routes.

Seattle is not a big-Cover-2 team, they like Carrol's 3-Buzz

so, your instinct does make sense, why two posts at different levels
it kind of makes sense if it was options and also possible OBJ wasn;t
supposed to make that read?? Don't know.

find it impossible that Kupp made an error---so IMO you are right in that
two posts is not what a play caller would want--but 100% sure he was throwing to Kupp
