Shelton has shown enough to battle for a starter spot with Allen - if they even want to pay Allen to stay (can't stay healthy). If Big Whit wants to play again - then you keep him and Noteboom. Maybe there's a depth player - Evans, Anchrum, Brewster - who can perfrorm at a higher level.
He's a cheap and solid starter so I would not move on from him. One year left of cheap team control so you use that and watch him grow into what should be an above average or better starter and then go from there. He has been good for us every time they've thrown him in there and has been solid this year just not as good as the rest of the guys. By no means is he a bad starter.
Shelton has a very small sample size. That is much more of a concern irt future planning. Just like with Noteboom. Edwards you know exactly where his weaknesses are and this next offseason he will work on his combo blocks and executing line calls and he'll be stronger and better for 2022. Shelton who knows although we will keep him around for certain to compete at Center which is going to be much more important to sort than OG.
The Rams have plenty of answers at OG. This is why Corbett will leave in FA. Some of those guys might also mean Havenstein is dealt too. Change is coming on the OL and the new guys will be out of that pipeline.
Where the Rams struggled was in setting up the pipeline and playing some of them too early. Allen and Boom were both not ready when they got their first snaps. But now both are starter level type players. The pipeline is producing now IMO they will simply draft another guy or two to insert in there this next draft as depth.
