That's not bringing fairness, that's trying to shift blame. The defense has been suspect all year and the offense has overcome it. Just because they also struggled for a time doesn't erase how porous the defense has been all year. I haven't excused Stafford's mistakes but you keep making excuses for the defense.
I know that you're saying that you're not defending Morris but that isn't how it comes across. But when you try and illustrate with statistics how the defense isn't too far different from last year, I don't see how that's anything but trying to defend it.
The offense hasn't been able to play at a high level 100% of the time but that isn't really fair to expect. They're still 5th in the league in scoring and hardly the problem that the defense has been.
