I agree with the logic you laid out: it's pretty much what I've thought all along.
(I also agree with those posters who say Creed would have been a better pick than Tutu. But that's not what this thread is about.)
Looking at the Rams' process in hindsight it seems that they thought having Tutu at WR
in 2022 with Allen/Shelton/Anchrum/etc. at center was better than having Humphrey at center and no real deep threat at WR. And they certainly could have been wrong in their thinking, but I can at least see the thought process.
I still hold out hope that a year in the weight room plus a full offseason to learn the playbook will at least elevate Tutu to serviceable. But I guess that's a discussion for next year.
