Stats are a nice baseline to start from, but ultimately they are window dressing. My concern with this defense has more to do with what I see on the field, more importantly, what I saw versus playoff teams. We can create all sorts of fancy stats vs the Texans, Giants, Bears or Jaguars but they're meaningless if we can't win in the playoffs.
I saw the Cards run over us. I saw us having no answer for the 49ers rushing attack or Kittle despite them doing nothing different than they've done for every other game against us. I saw the winless Lions drive the field for a potential tie.. We allowed the Texans put up 22 points in the 4th. Yes, the game was over, but come on! I'm seeing one sack against a gimpy Aaron Rogers. These are the kind of numbers that bother me, and this is why I have a vote of no confidence in Morris.
