I'm not so sure that's it. It has that appearance, to be sure.... and of course it may be that - but I think just as likely if not more so:
I think McVay sees more player failure in plays that don't work than the play itself being 'wrong'. That could be arrogance, but also true. I think McVay believes he has the talent to execute far better than what is happening. Watching from the sidelines, (so to speak), this is aggravating for me. I'm thinking, "to hell with perfection, do what works". So McVay is thinking "play better" while I'm thinking "play your hand".
I think McVay sees a level of play that is necessary for a deep run into the playoffs and certainly for a SB appearance... and 'perfecting' what is currently not working well the way, the only way, to get there. I'm not sure that translates to 'arrogance'. - JamesJM
