I think it's one thing for him to have been redshirted in 2020. Mid-round pick, three established TEs in front of him, no real training camp or preseason, etc.
But if he remains incognito for the rest of this year then I would think he just isn't able to put it all together and they will move on. Jourdan has alluded several times to him just not performing the way they want even though he's been putting in the work. He's played a grand total of 2 snaps on offense and 50 on special teams in a year and a half.
He has a $1.06M cap number in 2022 and they'd save $731k this offseason by releasing him.
