I know what you are feeling. I’m telling myself to let the process play itself out because the front office knows way more than any of us will ever know about these players. My take for little as it’s worth: Kenny Young had a tough time in the run game getting off blocks. When it was Young vs a ball carrier he made some plays. Ernest Jones was drafted to be a thumper in the run game something the team is consistently lacking. Kenny Young also was in the final year of his deal and in all likelihood wouldn’t be resigned, even if he had a stellar second half of the season.
Jackson was suppose to take the top off the defense like Brandin Cooks, but what the team saw was the current top three WRs can all do that because Stafford is that good at tricking safeties and throws an accurate deep ball. Jackson also has a pretty big cap hit and likely has become frustrated and possibly vocal behind closed doors that he wasn’t involved more.
What these two moves mean, only Snead and McVay know but it’s not hard to imagine the team extends a pending FA like Corbett or Seabass or tries to swing a trade. In the past the front office hasn’t stockpiled salary without reason.
Just a guess
