Texans QB Davis Mills to start over Tyrod Taylor vs. Rams

The Texans designated Tyrod Taylor to return from injured reserve this week, indicating he could be ready to play Sunday against the Rams. It turns out he still needs more time to heal from his hamstring injury and will not start for Houston this weekend.
Texans coach David Culley told reporters that Davis Mills will start against the Rams in Week 8. That’s a boost for the Rams’ odds of beating Houston because the offense is far better with Taylor under center than Mills.

In the Texans’ five games with Mills at quarterback, they’ve scored 39 total points, which is one more than the Rams scored in Week 6 alone against the Giants.
With Mills now starting, the spread has moved from Rams -14.5 to -15.5, according to Tipico Sportsbook.
