Maybe they had decided to bench him for Jones. But I tend to doubt it. Young is far from a star but he had played 77 percent of the defensive snaps and was 2nd on the team in tackles. I would much rather have kept him for the next 10 games and postseason at least for depth. What happens if Reeder or Jones gets hurt?

this is why it makes zero sense as of right now, today.....but also leads us to believe they have a much better plan already in the works besides "Jones and Reeder need to step up" it just doesn't make much sense to give up one of your best LB'ers for basically nothing....he's worth much more than a 2024 6th round pick
