This is kind of the McVay way. The scheme takes a while to master, and you are expected to block. Jefferson didn't see the field much last year either and he had size and pedigree.
One thing I hope the Rams do is stipulate a weight for him to hit by mini camp or training camp. Teams do this with too-heavy lineman sometimes. Here it would be the reverse. If he's truly 155 (is he?) then he needs to be maybe 165 by mini camp and 170 by training camp. With the strength training, nutritionists , etc at his disposal from the team - adding 10 or 15 pounds of good body weight shouldnt be an issue seeing how young he is.
His offseason needs to be 6 days a week of weights and calorie monitoring to have him at a surplus. What did he do after being drafted - run, play basketball? He obviously didn't spend it trying to add to his slender frame
It ain't going to matter the more weight he puts on the slower he is going to be. It takes more than straightline speed in the NFL and that is his problem. His slight frame and miniscule catch radius is his problem. Also he is not a good route runner or blocker. In what world do we think he is going to get any playing time next year? D jax is getting very limited reps as is and he is light years ahead of tutu at this point. I have more faith in Jacob Harris being converted than tutu being anything but a bench warmer and out of the league after his rookie contract.
Exactly. To be a WR in McVay's O, you have to be able to block. Who is Tutu going to be able to block? Maybe a cheerleader but he's not blocking any real NFL players that's for sure!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
