Atwell was a classic Rams ‘next year’ pick, dude.
Rams have been doing those very successfully at other positions for years. This one may or may not work out, but only time will tell. I intend to wait and see.
FWIW, I gather that Atwell was a player that McVay fell in love with once McVay became obsessed with the need for that speedy deep threat once again. If Atwell ultimately can take the top off certain D’s, at least on occasion, then perhaps he will be well worth that 57th pick.
The fact that Atwell has not been a success as a returner means very little to me. They didn’t spend #57 for a returner in the first place.
