There has been a bunch of consternation presently about how our defense has taken a step back, our special teams being uneven or how our QB has started out flat a bit in a couple of games.
The interesting part is that these concerns seemed to take a back burner during the offseason and much of the concern was over the Offensive Line. I mean, how do we give up on a guy like Kromer, turn the reigns over to a college coach, not draft a center, expect Corbett to move over and an OOOOOOLLLLDDDD OT to hold up again after being injured the year before? All without using high draft capital on the line?
Yet, here we are 5 games in and the shining stars of this team has been the Offensive Line.
Full respect to Coach Carberry.
Before the game, he came walking out the tunnel by himself and was surprised when he heard me call out to him. He literally froze and turned around like WTF???
Like who the hell knows me in Seattle?
"Hats off to you Coach Carbs. I know lots of fans out there, myself included, were very concerned to lose Coach Kromer, shuffling the offensive line and wondering if a rookie coach can pull it off."
"I wasn't sure about you man, but I got no doubts now."
He fully smiled, like a little kid, grateful that I noticed.
While the Seahawks statistically aren't a great defense, Seattle is a TOUGH place to play, particularly for the O-Line with all the noise. And for the 5th week in a row, the Offensive Line answered the call. While they haven't been perfect in every game, as a group they have handled their business and have given us a chance to be undefeated.
After the game, basking in the glow of another win in Seattle and watching ram player after ram player get accolades from all the fans, here comes Coach Carbs, by himself again . . .
"You did it again CARBS, you shut these fools up".
His face said it all as he followed the team back into the tunnel with a hard earned W in tow.
