For most of that year many of us praising the O, (how could you not), thought the D wasn't pulling their weight. Then there came a time when we could no longer deny their success, and most especially their consistent ability to come up with an enormous D play at precisely the right moment.
Lot of D players responsible for that but one of them, seldom if ever mentioned, was Jenkins. That guy would blow up play after play... often coming up near the line, but even back he could read and react like a mongoose. I don't remember him being that great in pass coverage, however.... so correct me if I'm wrong.
Well, THAT is the type of player I think we're missing. And sure, Ramsey could do it, and does somewhat now in 'Star'... but you don't sacrifice all Ramsey's other abilities to make him a Jenkins. And there is this... even if we did have that type of DB, or maybe 'do'?, would Morris use him that way? I'm doubtful. - JamesJM
