I think his entire defensive plan puts players into that mindset.....instead of being an aggressive attack mindset they play a soft, react type plan.....When you let guys catch a ball and then close in for a tackle instead of being right there to contest the passes you miss tackles, as far as the run game misses it's just snow balled off the pass D.....
The only thing I see that Morris has kept in place is the moving around of JR....I don't see anything going on besides him. He's also the only guy who plays up on a guy, the only guy who gets in a guys face.....Long was being eaten alive, but I don't know, he was reacting to the completions after the fact, that long pass was sickening.....holding on to the guy being dragged into the end zone.
These 3rd and longs are becoming common place being converted....a 3rd and 7 is a gimme and the 3rd and +tens are not anywhere near a sure stop either....They can't get off the field, they are IMO 100% relying on the O to score every time.....and now they almost have to be TD's to keep the lead.
They'll do it on Thursday.....but this D is what it is, I see no improvement, even changing out guys won't change the softness.
