now if it stays as is we will be needing a punter, not hard I guess, but to get a top notch one is.....Corey is 24, Johnny is like 31 or so.....If we went Corey our punter spot would be solved going forward, now it's a question mark....Plus he would have been cheaper at the inception of his RAM career.....
Not to say Johnny can't turn it around, but looking at it realistically he's been "off" going on since last year.....if it's hanging out there this long, that's probably what you are going to get this year. Looking like it's another position we will need to address in 2022, with Corey in tow it would be a spot filled.
Good punters can play well into their 30's if they stay healthy.
Remember Donnie Jones? He played 14 years!
Remember Ray Guy? Played 13 years!
Hekker has only played 9 years. I think he has few good years left in him. I will judge him again after I see him punt of few more times. He really hasn't had many chances so far and must look ok in practice for McVay and DeCamillis to keep him over Bojo.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
