In the 4th quarter, when the game was well in hand, and the Rams intended on running the ball to burn clock, and the Bears knew they were going to run the ball, the Rams ran the ball quite successfully.
We have to add to that there was a lot of rust that had to be knocked off for the Rams OL. You could see them executing better and better as the game wore on. And it's not like some say that the Bears D got tired. The Rams only ran 50 offensive plays. The Bears D was on the field for something like 25 playing minutes.
This Rams team is going to pass the ball to set up the run. We have a great passer of the ball and expert dissector of Defenses in Stafford, and what has to be one of the 3 or 4 overall best receiving corps in the NFL. I don't think we'll see Stafford averaging fewer than around 30 passes per game as the season progresses. McVay wants explosive plays and in the NFL that means passing the ball.
But the Rams will be able to run the ball just fine; just not as the focus of their offense.
