"...Johnny Hekker is the longest-tenured player on the Rams, but that could change on Tuesday with Los Angeles needing to trim its roster down to 53 players. Hekker is in danger of being cut or traded by the Rams after the team signed Corey Bojorquez this offseason, who seems like the favorite to be the starting punter.

Hekker has spent nine years with the Rams and has been named a first-team All-Pro four times, quickly becoming a fan favorite for his booming punts and fantastic trick plays. His fate isn’t yet known, but an Instagram post by Hekker ahead of final cuts suggests he might be on his way out.

His caption: “Where my help comes from ⬆️
The future is bright.”

The Rams can save $3.75 million by moving on from Hekker, while Bojorquez will only cost them about $1 million this season. For a team that’s always up against the cap, that’s a helpful savings and could be carried over into the 2022 offseason when Darious Williams, Sebastian Joseph-Day and Austin Corbett are all free agents..
