Rams could lose another option at center if Austin Reiter signs with Texans

If the LA Rams want a chance at the best remaining free agent center, time could be running out. Austin Reiter, who has started in the last two Super Bowls as the guy snapping to Patrick Mahomes, is heading to Houston to meet with the Texans, according to a report by Ian Rapoport. The free agent has had a difficult time finding a home but then again, there doesn’t seem to be any reason to rush into a decision at this point.

The fact that Reiter has been starting for the best offense in the NFL is merely that: a fact. It doesn’t mean that Reiter has been one of the reasons for Kansas City’s success, but it is also important to note that he didn’t hold back the Chiefs from becoming the most dangerous offense in the NFL either.

The Rams are currently set to have a competition at center and while Austin Corbett has been the favorite, Sean McVay has remained open to the possibility of Brian Allen starting in the middle and Corbett moving back to right guard.

The Texans are expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL next season, but if quarterback Deshaun Watson ends up playing and starting for them, then Reiter would help shore up the position a little bit before Week 1.

Should the Rams be content with what they have at center?
