Anything's possible. Cam seemed to be thought more highly of but there really isn't much evidence to support him being an obvious better RB. Not when you look at the numbers. So, did the light go on for Akers and his last 3 or 4 games were representative of the "real" Akers? Or, did he benefit from the Rams leaning on the running game and giving him a lot of touches? His game in Seattle for example. No knock on what he did at all, it was a good game but if Henderson had been given 28 carries in any particular game, would the results have been much different?

Only once in his career has Henderson been given that kind of opportunity when he had 20 carries against Buffalo on the road and he put up 114 yards and a TD at 5.7 ypc. Statistically, that's as good as Akers. Akers actually had 5 of his last 6 games where he was getting almost 20 carries per game. 3.4, 5.9, 4.2, 1.6, 4.6, 5.0 ypc in those games. But I'm not sure how "real" those situations were. On the one hand, you'd realistically add a degree of difficulty because it was diminished Goff, Wolford and injured Goff at QB. On the other hand, Akers was getting more carries that would be normal because of the QB situaion.

I think Henderson's game against Buffalo can be looked at as more "real" in that regard. So, he has to prove that he can stay in the lineup but give him 18+ carries on a regular basis and it's pretty feasible that he could replicate or exceed what Akers was doing.
