There have been some great nicknames throughout the history of the NFL, ranging from Broadway Joe Namath to William “The Refrigerator” Perry. Throughout the Rams’ decorated time in the NFL, they’ve also had quite a few players with catchy nicknames.

Thomas Neumann of Touchdown Wire ranked the 101 best nicknames in football history, and four Rams greats made the list. Two of them were ranked in the top 10, with three total in the top 25.

Here are the Rams players who made the cut.

77. Greg “The Leg” Zuerlein
25. Dick “Night Train” Lane
9. David “Deacon” Jones
8. Elroy “Crazy Legs” Hirsch

Greg Zuerlein also had the nickname “Legatron,” which is equally great as “Greg The Leg.” Night Train is an iconic nickname, one that is used more often than Lane’s actual first name.

And then there are Deacon Jones and Elroy Hirsch. Everyone refers to David Jones as Deacon Jones, one of the best pass rushers in the history of the league.

Hirsch was a Hall of Famer for the Rams, doing everything from catching passes to running the ball to returning punts and kickoffs. “Crazy Legs” is an all-time great nickname, fitting for the elusive legend.

Torry “Big Game” Holt was deserving of making the top 101, as was Isaac “The Reverend” Bruce. But at least the Rams had four players on the list.
