I still think Lansford's '83 kick to beat the Saints is one of the top-10 moments for the franchise. That win represented a lot as far as the team returning to its winning ways after a couple really down years in '81 and '82.
Agree on both points. That 83 draft was Epic. I give Nelson credit for one thing kicking the game winning field goal against the 49ers in Game 1 that year, a 10-7 win but otherwise he sucked bad.
Lansford's kick in 83 was awesome. It was cool reading yesterday that he said that was the biggest Kick in his career because it was HUGE for the team and propelled us to a win the following week against the cowboys.
In fact, when I was at the Rams-Saints NFC Championship game, I thought of all the great moments in that dome, Flippers big night, Kevin Greene's superman tackle and, of course Mike's big kick in 1983.
