Which set of offensive weapons has been Sean McVay’s best with the Rams?
He’s had some of the best already

We know that the LA Rams have made a monumental change at quarterback, but 2021 will also feature a number of new offensive pieces besides just Matthew Stafford. And it’s that added depth that could turn into the result of perhaps Sean McVay’s best set of offensive weapons since being hired in 2017.

McVay has helped guide LA to being the number one offense. He coached them to a Super Bowl. He’s helped Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp post stats that many people felt were impossible back in 2017, while Todd Gurley proved that running backs do matter — both when they’re on the field and especially when they are not.

Which of the five rosters between 2017 and 2021 has featured the best set of offensive weapons for the Rams? You tell me!

2017 - WR Robert Woods, WR Sammy Watkins, WR Cooper Kupp, RB Todd Gurley, TE Tyler Higbee, TE Gerald Everett, WR Josh Reynolds, WR Tavon Austin, RB Malcolm Brown

Woods, Watkins, Kupp, Everett, and Reynolds were all added prior to the 2017 season.

2018 - WR Robert Woods, WR Brandin Cooks, WR Cooper Kupp, RB Todd Gurley, TE Tyler Higbee, TE Gerald Everett, WR Josh Reynolds, RB Malcolm Brown, RB C.J. Anderson*

Anderson wasn’t added until late in the year, but it felt wrong to not include him. Cooks replaced Watkins.

2019 - WR Robert Woods, WR Cooper Kupp, WR Brandin Cooks, RB Todd Gurley, TE Tyler Higbee, TE Gerald Everett, WR Josh Reynolds, RB Malcolm Brown, RB Darrell Henderson

Henderson was added as a safety net for Gurley, but neither the trapeze artist or the net were all that effective in 2019.

2020 - WR Robert Woods, WR Cooper Kupp, WR Josh Reynolds, RB Cam Akers, TE Tyler Higbee, TE Gerald Everett, RB Malcolm Brown, RB Darrell Henderson, WR Van Jefferson

Akers became a better heir to the throne than Henderson.

2021 - WR Robert Woods, WR Cooper Kupp, WR DeSean Jackson, RB Cam Akers, TE Tyler Higbee, WR Tutu Atwell, WR Van Jefferson, RB Darrell Henderson, WR Van Jefferson, TE Jacob Harris, TE Brycen Hopkins

We do not yet know which of these players will emerge to become the most consistent contributors, but LA is entering the season with plenty of options. And maybe one or two more to come. Don’t take this as an insult to a player who wasn’t listed, perhaps training camp and preseason will reveal a hidden gem.
