The guy is a gamer all the way. I watched his career and I don't know what you saw that you didn't like; all he did was win. I saw a guy who could diagnose a D, throw accurately (and to the right guy), stand tall in the pocket, and could sense the rush and move around in the pocket. He has a Warner kind of arm: adequate arm strength (not a canon), throws a very catchable ball.
Guys like Lawrence and Fields whose games rely on movement bother me. They have a tendency burst onto the scene in the first year or two (because of their movement skills), and then top out pretty quickly. Neither of those two are a Lamar Jackson in blazing speed and agility (who is going to have a short career btw). Already a similar guy in Kyler Murray's injuries are mounting up.... same issue. Move or die.
It'll be interesting for sure.
I merely said I disagreed he will be better than Lawrence and Fields.
Wouldn't be totally shocked if he surprises and has a better career than one of the 5 QB's selected before him.
He was drafted after Lawrence, Wilson, Lance, Fields & Jones.
He was the 6th selected QB in the draft. Drafted right about where he was projected to go.
At the moment, Trask is next on deck for the Bucs when Brady retires.
I didn't say was going to be a dud.
I just don't have him as high on the mantle as you do.
I could be wrong. I was wrong about Goff and I'm still eating crow for it.
Projecting the best QB's after the first round and guessing how good their careers will be is a crapshoot.
