I think a lot needs to be made of this. This action by Rogers and earlier by Watson essentially attempts to re-write and over ride Free Agency and collectively bargained player movement. Even more, only elite players can potentially get away with it. Their hold outs and demands can cause so much turmoil as well as virtually re-stack a team in a division that it can't be taken lightly with... who cares?
If this is but a matter of holding out for more money, that's one thing. It's not. It's about Rogers forcing his way out of town.
It isn't that I in the least care about the jerk Rogers or the GB Packers. It's that this can absolutely spread to every team. What would you say if AD did the same? You gonna be OK with a couple of 1st rounders in trade? Hell no. There is no way to retrieve proper value for a HOF player in his prime (maybe the best D player in the league at any position) through draft picks that are inherently all speculation and gambles. When it involves a QB of Rogers' caliber, it's a non-starter. As for Watson.... vastly over rated in my book, but nonetheless a good young QB (and the worst PR nightmare anyone could imagine in the current political/social climate).
