If I'm the GB Packers I tell him to pound sand. There is absolutely no way to get fair value for a guy like that. There aren't enough 1st round picks to do it, because the likelihood of any of them producing another Aaron Rogers is remote.
$500,000 might not mean anything to Rogers. But losing a season's salary and keeping him so that he can't sign with anyone else is. And it's about the only remedy for what is going to become a jail break if teams aren't willing to stand up to guys who want to force their way out of town whenever they feel like it. For some guys, if you can get some some good picks, sure. For others like Rogers, no way.
I really don't know what GB might do. But since they don't have an owner and are run by football guys, this could be the 1st place to decide that it's OK with them if Rogers no longer plays for them. But he's not going to play for anyone else either, and he's going to miss out on scores of millions in money. And folks, even to Billionaires, scores of millions matters.
