Teams have good 3,4,5 RBs, but we don't normally get to see them because the 1,2 gets most of the carries. Brown was our 3 and he got good action in some games. He's gone and the other guys behind Akers and Hendu Have no NFL experience. A couple of pileups and we could be in trouble with the lack of depth. Is Calais any good? Would you trust Funk to be our workhorse? Teams like the Niners, Saints and Packers always seem to have several runners on their squads. There were many years our Rams drafted a RB each season. We got Hendu with a 3rd and Akers with a 2. Love them both. Hope they split carries and run for 1300 yards each. But, if they both go down...
The Packers have Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. The 2 guys behind them have no experience.
The Saints have Kamara and Latavius Murray. The guys behind them have been in the league a few years but are bonafide scrubs and not someone you would trust to be a workhorse.
The 49ers have 2 vets leading the charge and 2 guys they drafted this year behind them. Last year the 9ers had Coleman and McKinnen with no one behind them.
I'm racking my brain and not seeing any teams going 4-5 deep. Having a proven 3rd guy seems to be a luxury.
