The Rams have several good Olinemen who have played meaningful games and are known quantities. They also know the offense.
Putting a rookie Center out there that never has is perhaps the biggest risk you could take with this QB.
It is highly unlikely that any rookie Center no matter how highly drafted would have started this year for the Rams. Given, of course, that every now and then one comes along that can and does start for a good team. But more often, rookie Centers are starting on bad teams not Superbowl aspirants.
