I actually like Boom and think he'll be a great LT. Anchrum played RT in college. Why would you project him on the blind side? Also, there have been a lot of reports that Anchrum will be tried inside at guard and possibly even center. If/when Whit hangs 'em up I see Boom stepping in and if he can't go I can see Edwards moving out there.
I don't project him to LT for the record. That was Kromer. He talked him up quite a bit early this offseason on an audio interview and mentioned they had been working him at LT.
Since Kromer has been fired the Rams haven't really changed tact either, so I guess that they still feel Anchrum factors in at that position.
Boom is fine as a backup btw. But he gets moved too much and has trouble staying on his assignment. I doubt the Rams see him as a future answer.
