With the rule that a certain amount of unused cap can be carried over to the next season, I don't think the Rams will use any more cap space this year than they are forced to . This is one reason that I agree Young is probably gone and why they just weren't that interested at resigning Blythe, so they let him move on.
Will they sign a vet Center that is cut loose? Maybe. But it would be only on the cheap, for 1 year, and he would probably have to be better than Blythe or any currently available Center on the FA market.
