Not if the offensive line cannot protect. It won't make a difference unless the offensive line can pass protect and do it with or without a running game.
Teams in the NFL can stop the run just about any time they want, but a passing game is hard to contain. This is the key to the entire season.
The best teams in the NFL were passing teams. That is today's NFL.
