I see 2 big opportunities for the better drafting teams in this ‘shallow draft’...

The first big opportunity is that the better drafting teams (better evaluators, anyway) will be better positioned to grab quality players that have slipped past the poorer drafting teams. And the poorer drafting teams are generally always picking ahead of the Rams, aren’t they? Isn’t that why they’re drafting earlier?

The second big opportunity is that this should be a richer UDFA pool than usual. I mean, the players are still out there, but most teams are simply less well informed as to who they are. If Snead and his scouting dept do a superior job in their evals then UDFA could be a particularly target rich environment. Kinda reminds me of the expression, ‘In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king’.

I smell Ram Opportunity here, y’all...
