Trade away a young stud LT? For the next to last pick in the 1st round and not much more? And also have to give back a 2nd rounder next year? The Chiefs flat didn't have to give much to get him. The issue will be the huge money that they'll be putting out to re-sign him.
The 31st pick may as well be the 50th pick in this year's draft. I find it interesting that other teams wouldn't have given up the same deal except the draft picks would have been higher in each round. I guess there just wasn't much interest. Gotta' wonder why? Did the money that he's going to cost scare teams away? He'll probably become the highest paid LOT in the league.
I'm not at all sure that this was a great move for the Chiefs or Ravens. But obviously the Ravens have decided that LOT is not worth a fortune to them. Probably because they have a running QB anyway.
